Overview

The Engineering and Public Works Department is the technical engine of the Marondera Rural District Council. Our primary mandate is to support all council activities by providing innovative engineering solutions, managing project implementation, and delivering the essential technical services required to fulfill the local authority’s service delivery mandate. We are responsible for the physical infrastructure that keeps the Marondera district moving, growing, and thriving.

CORE FUNCTIONS AND SERVICES 

• Road network development and maintenance management systems
• Infrastructure and capital development projects
• Building inspectorate and development control
• Building, water supply and sewerage systems maintenance and repairs
• Maintenance of plant and equipment
• Roads and Works budget preparation and control
• Engineering development control
• Facilitation & formulation of PPP for development of backbone infrastructure (Roads & WASH infrastructure) for new and existing development
