Education is the cornerstone of sustainable development. The Marondera Rural District Council (MRDC) works closely with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, local communities, and private investors to ensure that every child across our 23 wards has access to a quality learning environment.
From cutting-edge early childhood development centers and historic boarding schools to newly constructed rural academies, our district offers a diverse and robust educational landscape.

????️ Expanding Access Through Devolution
The Council is aggressively utilizing Devolution Funds to close the infrastructure gap in our resettlement and rural farming communities. By identifying areas where learners were walking up to 12 kilometers to access education, we have successfully launched new council-built schools to bring learning closer to home:
- Grand Chase Secondary School (Ward 1): A brand-new secondary school built to serve the local farming community, drastically reducing travel distances for rural high schoolers.
- Mandoga Primary School (Ward 2): Transitioned learners from a temporary farm house into a fully constructed, modern primary school facility.
